It’s About Time!

So you found your way to my new site. I want to first thank you for visiting. It means so very much to me that you have taken the time to look at my work. As I mentioned in my about page I have no formal training. I actually hated art class in high school. My mom felt sorry for me one semester and did my final project, a self portrait. I handed in “my work” and when it was time for it to come back to me the teacher handed me my portfolio and said “tell your mum she’s an excellent artist. She gets a 7.” In the states an A for reference. Collectively I barely passed the class and I was more fascinated with the weird supplies that sometimes made their way into my backpack.

My sister who is three years younger than me was always considered the artist. She created amazing paintings in high school was part of drama club working on sets and now works in the movie industry. I was the rebel, singer, partier, adventure. If it was a risky dumb idea, I was the first to try it. From jumping off of roofs with a kids bed-tent strapped to my wrists and ankles to working on and street racing import cars in my 20’s. I full-filled the description the “Wild Child” very well. I am still obsessed with cars.

“It”

I never disliked art I just never really understood “it”. That is right up until I painted for the very first time on canvas in 2018. Then I finally felt like I got “it”. For me “it” was a feeling. The expression of emotions that I knew I had, just didn’t’ know what to do with. Well there they are.. all on canvas for your viewing pleasure, or, a quick scroll and eww why?
